BOSTON (AP) — With the primaries behind them, Republican Charlie Baker and Democrat Martha Coakley are setting the stage for the November gubernatorial campaign that apparently will not include any restrictions on advertising by outside political groups.

Baker greeted commuters at Boston’s South Station on Wednesday and promised to run a positive race that will show voters the differences between him and Coakley.

The former Harvard Pilgrim Health Care executive, who was also the 2010 GOP nominee for governor, easily defeated Mark Fisher in Tuesday’s party primary.

Democrats, meanwhile, gathered for a unity meeting in Boston that included Coakley and her primary opponents, Steven Grossman and Don Berwick.

Coakley has called on Baker to take a so-called “people’s pledge” against advertising by so-called Super PACs in the November race, but Baker’s campaign said Wednesday that was not an option.
