At issue is whether Cahill used tax-payer funded state lottery money to boost his 2010 run for governor.

Cahill was the first politician tried under the anti-corruption law.

“The issue is, can we reach some resolution short of trial?” Coakley told WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Mark Katic. “We report to the court this coming Friday on whether we reached a resolution or not.”

Coakley says currently, no decision been made.

Cahill’s attorneys say the case should have never been a criminal case.
